AFFI Brings the Frozen Food Industry's Voice to the Center for American Food Power

The Center for American Food Power (CAFP) today welcomed the American Frozen Food Institute (AFFI), the national trade association representing America's frozen food and beverage industry, as its newest organizational member through the Food Power Alliance.
"Frozen foods give families dependable, affordable choices while making mealtime easier. And importantly for the work of CAFP, freezing is nature’s pause button, locking in nutrition and preventing food waste,” said Alison Bodor, President and CEO of AFFI. “By joining the Center for American Food Power, AFFI will bring the frozen food industry’s voice and expertise about how we ensure Americans have year-round access to quality, affordable food."
AFFI represents companies across the frozen food supply chain, from farmers and seasonal fruit and vegetable growers and ingredient suppliers to processors, logistics providers and distributors. The Institute advocates for practical, science-based public policies and regulatory clarity while advancing industry education, research, training and food safety best practices. Together, AFFI members preserve agricultural products after harvest, produce value-added foods, and move frozen foods through temperature-controlled supply chains to communities across the country. In this dialogue, AFFI aims to ensure that frozen foods are an integral part of the vision for a future food supply chain for the American marketplace.
“Food security depends on more than the production of raw materials,” said Brett Sciotto, Founder of the Center for American Food Power and Chief Executive Officer of Idealyst Innovation. “AFFI brings important expertise in food safety and quality, innovation and temperature-controlled distribution, all essential to a food system that must feed Americans in every community and every season. Its members bring practical knowledge of the frozen food supply chain, and the Center will be sharper for it.”
